Happening this Fall for Parents and Kids

As the seasons change, the leaves are falling and fall routines are set into place, there are many activities and events happening on the North Shore and Vancouver this season. Whether you are looking for a night or day out to ‘adult-time’ or something to do with the whole family, we’ve rounded up some notable and fun events to check out.

Family Events:

1. West Vancouver Pumpkin Fest - September 30th

An annual family event at the West Vancouver Rec Centre brings the whole community together to celebrate fall and the harvest season. With pony rides, pumpkin patches, artisan market, live music and kid activities offered all day, this is a great event for the whole family to go to. September 30th from 10am to 3pm.

2. Farmers Markets in West & North Vancouver - Until end of October

Farmers Markets can be a nice addition to a Saturday or Sunday morning outing. Most farmers markets run through the end of October and its a great time to buy seasonal and local fruits and vegetables like varieties of squash and apples. West Vancouver offers a farmers market every Sunday at Ambleside Park and North Vancouver offers a farmers market every Saturday at Lonsdale Quay. Theres’ live music and kid-friendly activities are offered.

3. Pumpkin Patches and Corn Mazes - Until end of October

It really feels like fall with pumpkin patches, hay and corn mazes! Grab a pumpkin spice latte or hot chocolate for the kids and check out a variety of farms which offer family friendly activities throughout October. A great picture moment for the family running though the pumpkin patch fields and picking your pumpkin to take home for Halloween. Some of our top picks include:

4. U-Pick Apple Farms

Apple picking season is officially here! There are so many ways to use them. Some include eating them fresh off the trees, making delicious home-baked goods such as Apple Crisp, Apple Spice Pie, Cinnamon Apple Sauce, or throw them in overnight oats for a healthy and tasty add on. From early September to the end of October you can visit many local farms to pick your own. A great weekend family outing!

5. The Wiggles Tour - Orpheum Theatre, Vancouver

If you have little ones, chances are The Wiggles are a big part of your household tunes. A fun and interactive concert for the whole family! Tickets are on sale now and will be in Vancouver on October 30th, 2018.

1. How to be a Conscious Parent: November 17th

A life changing event not to be missed! Based upon the groundbreaking parenting book, The Conscious Parent by Dr. Shefali Tsabary, this is a day out for parents, this full day workshop hosted by Dr. Shefali Tsabary and Master Innerbody Meditation and Mindfulness teacher, Constance Kellough. Building upon the paradigm of conscious parenting, empowering our children and spiritual awakening, Dr. Tsabary will discuss powerful and proven principles of effective parenting. This workshop will highlight the ways to struggle less and connect more deeply with yourself and your children and discuss topics like the power of responding rather than the reacting.

2. In goop Health Wellness Summit: October 27

This will be the first in goop Health Summit in Canada. A day to nourish your soul, body and mind. During this full-day workshop, you’ll listen in on three chats with trusted experts, experience three new breakout sessions, get served up by goop’s favourite Vancouver chefs, and hang in the goopified Stanley Park Pavilion. This is a kids-free event.
