It's not always easy to find time to workout when you’re a young mom or even finding time to coordinate for someone to look after your children while you take a workout class for that matter. On top of that trying to find fitness studios or groups that will be able to accommodate your children can be even harder. With this in mind we have pulled together a few of our top favourite fitness classes and mom fitness groups on the North Shore that mom + baby can both enjoy.

If you want a strength training workout that will tone your whole body and adds flexibility, try Barre Fitness, North Shore

Get your barre fitness in and tighten all over with Barre Fitness in North Vancouver. Barre Fitness combines the best parts of barre ballet, pilates, functional training and stretching. They offer a variety of levels depending on your comfort level. Classes are one hour long and have a special room beside the fitness studio with a window where kids are looked after and can play together. There are child drop-ins Monday - Friday from ages 3 months to 5 years old. You need to reserve a spot ahead of time, drop in is $5 per child. 


How about a fitness class during pregnancy or through your early postpartum journey?  Try Fit 4 Two, North Shore. 

A great way to get out of the house, meet new moms and get fit with baby! Fit 4 Two offers a range of fitness classes indoor and outdoor. It supports women through all stages of their pregnancy and their postpartum journey. Fitness classes and locations are offered throughout the North Shore. Bring your babies and have fun getting fit! 

Ever try boxing? Quite a workout! Griffins Boxing & Fitness offers this along with an overall fitness regime.

Griffins Boxing & Fitness is a boxing gym located in North Vancouver which offers a variety of boxing and fitness classes. In addition they also offer a Boxfit Babes program where you can bring your babies along for a gentle but well-rounded fitness and boxing regime. The fitness class is offered three days per week and mid-morning.  

If you just want to keep it simple with a fully equipped good ole fashioned gym with the options of cardio and variety of fitness group classes then give Steve Nash Fitness, Park Royal a try. 

Located in Park Royal in West Vancouver, Steve Nash Fitness is one of the newest additions to the North Shore. Offered under a membership program, once you are a member, you can have access to over 900 fitness group classes per week and a fitness centre with top of the line equipment. Offering a variety of fitness options and workouts. Child minding is available in a separate play room of all ages.

Finally Wild+Tiny is a wonderful outdoor adventure option which allows you to explore new trails while connecting with other moms.

An outdoor group hike for mom + baby is a great way to connect with other moms and get some fresh air. Offered monthly at different locations on the North Shore. Wild + Tiny hikes are sometimes stroller friendly but generally not, so prepare for a baby carrier just in case.
