May 2019: SELF-PRESERVATION

Welcome to our first month!

Our theme for May is SELF-PRESERVATION: The careful maintaining + protection of something valuable - YOU! Being that Mother's Day is also this month, we are starting off with a theme which honours all of us mothers. 

There’s no right way to self-care. It's highly personable and you need to do what’s right for you to live your best life. Anything that encompasses your emotional, mental, spiritual and physical well-being reflects self-care - whether your self-care practice is big or small.

As mothers, we tend to do everything for everyone else but leave taking care of ourselves last. This is because we often feel like the ‘indulgences’ aren't necessary like going to the spa, going to weekly yoga classes or taking bubble baths and even though sometimes our best intentions are there, taking care of ourselves drops down on the list of priorities compared to all of the other demands and needs of our families.

But, what if we were to shift these expectations on what self-care should be and instead how we can feel recharged on a regular basis without all the limitations and mom guilt? We need to create time throughout our day to feel like we are filling our bucket - and when we begin to notice we’re neglecting ourselves, we re-set. We see caring for ourselves not as self-indulgent but as self-preserving; a necessary practice in navigating the most vulnerable yet empowering chapters of our lives.

This month, my intention is to create this space for you to feel encouraged to find ways to recharge and let go of any mom guilt you may have. The resources + tools we provide this month are there for you to integrate into your daily life.
